Van der Linde to line up in 2017 ADAC GT Masters: Former champion will drive for Aust Motorsport

Change of drivers at Aust Motorsport. Pierre Kaffer is unable to compete in the ADAC GT Masters as planned due to a clash of dates with commitments in the USA. However, the team from Rietberg in north-west Germany have found a replacement at short notice in South African driver Kelvin van der Linde, who won the title in 2014 along with René Rast. Van der Linde will now partner Markus Pommer in one of two Audi R8 LMS racing cars in this season's Super Sports Car League.

"I'm really looking forward to working with Aust Motorsport and to the first roll-out for testing at Oschersleben," says Kelvin van der Linde, who is also contesting this year's Australian GT championship with an Audi R8 LMS and has already secured two wins.

Team Principal Frank Aust with an eye to the future: "We still have a lot of work ahead of us in view of the highly competitive nature of the ADAC GT Masters, but I'm certain that we can achieve success with our terrific team. We're looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead." Two young drivers, Dennis Marschall and Patric Niederhauser, will share the drive in the sister car, the Audi R8.
