Christopher Haase, Schmidt's team-mate at Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, qualified third on the grid. However, he lost a position at the start but then posted a series of fast laps and handed the Audi R8 LMS over to Schmidt in fourth place. The tactics with a late pit stop paid off, because Schmidt rejoined the track in third place which is where he finally crossed the finish line, securing his second victory in the Junior classification for drivers under 25.
Schmidt: "That was a good race for us. We were certainly fast enough to be further up front in the end, but it was impossible to get past the BMW in second place. We've missed out on points just lately, so it was good to win the Junior championship again. We've now started to catch up. Let's hope it can continue!"
Dennis Marschall, who placed fifth overall in another Audi, was the second best-placed Junior while Dutch Mercedes-AMG driver Indy Dontje took P3.
Lamborghini driver Rolf Ineichen stood on the top rung of the podium in the Trophy class for amateur drivers for the seventh time this season. The Swiss driver in P4 narrowly missed the podium in the overall standings.
