ADAC GT Masters: Comments after practice: ADAC GT Masters: Comments after practice

Timo Scheider (BMW Team Schnitzer, BMW M6 GT3): "There was a lot of new stuff for me to take on board today. The very variable conditions mean that it's too difficult to say exactly where we stand right now. I didn't get to drive all that much today, because my team-mate Mikkel Jensen was in the car for second practice and he'll be tackling qualifying tomorrow."

Christopher Mies (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS): "It was a great day. This morning, when I finished third, I was surprised how much grip the track offered, much more than in testing. Of course, it's great to have been fastest in the rain-hit second practice. I like rain, but I had a spot of luck as well, because I posted my lap when the track was a little bit drier, so everything just came together, you know. But you can't set too much store by my time."

Jamie Green (BWT Mücke Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS): "It was a tough day. It's been over six months since I drove a GT3 car. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend testing, as I had long-standing holiday plans. That obviously didn't make things any easier, as I'm not well prepared. Still, let's wait and see how things go tomorrow, when we really get down to business."

Markus Pommer (MANN-FILTER Team HTP, Mercedes-AMG GT3): "My team-mate Maxi Götz went out early in the wet for second practice and was fastest initially. We posted long runs later on but had some problems with tyre pressures increasing too much. We had a small contact on exiting the pits towards the end, but we were always in the Top Ten, actually. We're well prepared if it rains again this weekend. We were second fastest in FP1 in the dry. Whilst I didn't get to drive on fresh tyres, Maxi says he's very happy with the car, which is fine by me, as we usually run similar setups. I intend to get in the car tomorrow and put the pedal to the metal."

Jan-Erik Slooten (IronForce by RING POLICE, Porsche 911 GT3): "I've had a good day. Unfortunately, I lost some driving time due to the stoppage in the first session. I drove just under 20 minutes in the dry. I took the car out for the first time in the wet during second practice, and of course, while it wasn't totally unproblematic, it actually went quite well. Things were fine when it got really wet. Unfortunately, I missed the window when it was a bit drier. Still, let's see what happens tomorrow in qualifying. I'm still struggling a bit on new tyres but was able to manage quite well with the used ones."

Max Hofer (Phoenix Racing, Audi R8 LMS): "P2 in second practice! Not bad! It shows that the pace is there. That gives us something to build on. I now know that I can be fast in a GT3 car even in the rain. It was unfortunate that I put the car in the gravel towards the end and I had to say sorry to the team. Still, I think we can be satisfied with today's events."

Christopher Zöchling (MRS GT-Racing, BMW M6 GT3): "That was a very interesting opening day to the ADAC GT Masters. I drove the BMW for the first time in the rain. I've come from the Porsche one-make cup and the BMW with its turbo engine is in itself very different to drive. And, I also had to get used to the Pirelli tyres, but it went well and I'm very confident. We would be extremely happy with a place in the Top 15 in qualifying. A top-ten finish would be the ultimate, because the M6 GT3 is brand new to the team too. It's great that Jens Klingmann is here with us this weekend, because he's very familiar with the car."

Dominik Schwager (HB Racing, Ferrari 488 GT3): "By and large, today was pretty good. Everyone thought it was great to be finally underway again. I don't think we're doing too badly, but we'll see where we actually stand tomorrow in qualifying. We had a few problems in the rain, but we've got a good idea how to improve things. Finding grip in the wet was a tad problematic, but we hadn't made too many big changes to the car."
