The ADAC GT Masters was a crowd puller both at the Oschersleben circuit and on TV. The ratings registered by exclusive TV partner SPORT1 were the highest since the channel began coverage in 2015. The second race on Sunday pulled in an average of 460,000 viewers, peaking at 710,000. The overall market share was 3.7 percent, and 5.6 percent in the SPORT1 core target group.
The live broadcasts of the ADAC GT Masters have been further enhanced by the use of additional cameras this year, including onboard footage from the safety car for the first time. As well as the extensive live coverage from the racetrack, there is the ADAC GT Masters magazine programme on SPORT1, which is always aired on the Sunday night of a race weekend, and the new PS ADAC GT Masters magazine on news channel ntv, the first edition of which goes out at 9.30pm on 21st April.
The massive interest was by no means restricted to TV and to livestream downloads, as the numbers coming through the gates were also up on previous seasons. More than 25,000 fans came to the season opener at the Oschersleben Motorsport Arena, a bigger crowd than has been seen at any ADAC GT Masters race event so far.
