AutoArena Motorsport recruit Assenheimer/Schmid: New driver pairing in a Mercedes-AMG GT3

AutoArena Motorsport (supported by HTP Motorsport) have secured the services of veteran racer Clemens Schmid. A native of Austria, he first embarked on a career in professional motorsport in the year 2000. He has competed in Porsche single-make cup competitions and in endurance races such as the ADAC Zurich 24 Hours at the Nürburgring. In 2015, he completed a full season in in the ADAC GT Masters as a member of the Bentley Team HTP squad. Patrick Assenheimer from Heilbronn (Baden-Württemberg) is a regular in the ADAC GT Masters. He has been contesting the Super Sports Car League since 2014 and has so far notched up three podium finishes. The AutoArena duo will share the cockpit of a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the 2018 ADAC GT Masters.

“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season,” said Patrick Assenheimer. “In Clemens, I have an outstanding partner at my side. Together, we will be challenging for ADAC GT Masters championship points in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 entered by AutoArena. The garage crew will be provided by HTP Motorsport. Everyone involved knows that this season is not going to be easy, because the ADAC GT Masters will be more competitive than ever before, but we’ll be giving it everything we’ve got.” Clemens Schmid was sounding equally upbeat: “I’m looking forward to working with Patrick, and I am convinced that we can achieve top results together as a team and finish in the Top Five.”
