The BMW works driver's time at the end of the 60-minute session was 1:32.270, making him 0.09 seconds faster than Sebastian Asch had been in this morning's opening session in the Mercedes-AMG, so Klingsmann took best time overall on Friday. "This is my first time here in Most," said Klingmann, who shares the M6 GT3 with Christopher Zöchling. "I really like the circuit. It suits our car, as it flows really well and there are plenty of medium-fast and fast corners. As we saw in second practice, it can be pretty good on fresh tyres. My team-mate Christopher will be driving tomorrow in qualifying. The result gives us hope after our mediocre start in Oschersleben. A finish in the Top Five in qualifying would be terrific. We didn't do too badly on the long runs. A podium would obviously be fantastic."
Florian Spengler and Dries Vanthoor came home in second place in the Audi R8 LMS of EFP by TECE with a deficit of 0.020 seconds, finishing in front of Sebastian Asch & Luca Stolz in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 prepared by Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing that had been fastest in first practice. BMW Team Schnitzer's pairing of Mikkel Jensen & Timo Scheider took fourth place in the second best-placed M6 GT3.
Alessio Picariello & Christopher Mies completed the Top Five in Montaplast by Land-Motorsport's Audi, as they took the chequered flag ahead of Christopher Dreyspring & Giorgio Maggi, who achieved a respectable result in Schubert Motorsport's new Honda NSX GT3. The field was tightly bunched once again with 18 cars finishing within one second at the end of second practice.
