ADAC GT Masters·13.4.2018

Christopher Mies fastest in rain : Audi driver with best time in FP2

Driving the Audi R8 LMS from Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, 28-year-old Mies clocked a time of 1.37.374 minutes during the 45-minute session. "I like rain," he said. "I had a spot of luck as well, because I posted my lap when the track was a little bit drier, so everything just came together, you know, but you can't set too much store by my time. Still, it was nice, of course, to finish first!"

Second place also went to an Audi. The two ADAC GT Masters newcomers, Philip Ellis & Max Hofer from Phoenix Racing, missed best time by 0.495 seconds. Behind them in the fastest Lamborghini came Team Rosberg's pairing of Aaro Vainio and Michele Beretta. Two more Audi R8 LMS supercars completed the Top Five. Oscar Tunjo & Jake Dennis took fourth place for Phoenix Racing from the two brothers, Sheldon and Kelvin van der Linde in Montaplast by Land-Motorsport's second car.

The ADAC GT Masters continues tomorrow morning at 8:45 am with qualifying for the first race of the season at 1:15 pm.
