Comments after free practice: Drivers sum up their Friday at Zandvoort

Kelvin van der Linde (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS):

"It's always nice to come back to Zandvoort. This track is a real drivers' favourite. We tried out various things to get a good balance, and I think we are now well set up. In the second session we were a bit unlucky, because we didn't manage to get a run on new tyres and also missed the chance to test out a few other things. Despite that, though, we are ready for tomorrow."

Christian Engelhart (GRT Grasser Racing Team, Lamborghini Huracán GT3):

"That was a good start to the weekend. In the first practice, we only went out on long runs, whereas we treated the second as a rehearsal for qualifying. You shouldn't read too much into the gap we pulled out, however, as I was on new tyres just before the session was called off. We'll see the real time gaps in the two qualis, when it will be much, much tighter. But I hope we are in the lead again. The track suits us, and the car is very good in terms of setup."

Marvin Kirchhöfer (Callaway Competition, Corvette GT3-R):

"It's difficult to say where we are in comparison to the others. We still had various things we wanted to try out in the second practice session, but then the red flags came out. This morning, we saw that we were missing something here, so it's not easy for us. The car feels good, but at the moment, we aren't able to get much more out of it."

Luca Ludwig (HB Racing, Ferrari 488 GT3):

"We have no experience here with the Ferrari, because we've done no testing at this track, so of course we have a lot of things to do all at once. I can't really say what stage we're at, but I hope that we're able to pick up again from the success we had in the first few races."

Marc Lieb (KÜS Team75 Bernhard, Porsche 911 GT3 R):

"My first day in the ADAC GT Masters has been excellent. Zandvoort is a simply fabulous track with a cool atmosphere. I've been well received by the team. We tried a lot of things out today, and I'm feeling quite good in race trim. The difficult part for me will be getting the maximum out of qualifying. I simply don't have the experience with these tyres. But I'm in good spirits, and I'm looking forward to the two races. "

Christopher Zöchling (MRS GT-Racing, BMW M6 GT3):

"We've had some teething troubles. First, we had to find a good basic set-up for the BMW. Then we had problems with the throttle flap, and like everyone else, we've been inconvenienced by all the red flags. In the last session too, I could only fit in five or six laps before it was red again and the session was abandoned."

Robert Renauer (Precote Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R):

"That was not a very good day. In the first free practice session, I lost control of the car exiting the first corner and hit the barriers head-on. Although I still made it back to the pits, the front of the car was pretty badly damaged. We will be able to fix it by tomorrow, but it's going to be a long night."
