Dontje, who shares the drive in Mercedes-AMG GT3 with Maximilian Buhk at Mann-Filter Team HTP Motorsport, qualified in second place on the grid. Despite losing a position at the start, his partner Buhk, fought his way to the top of the field in the second stint of the race and then managed the race confidently from the front. This was Dontje’s first overall victory in the ADAC GT Masters and his second in the Pirelli Junior stakes.
"What a great race", said a happy Dontje. "I’m very pleased to have taken my maiden ADAC GT Masters victory. We had a good qualifying with second place. Actually, we never expected to be so far up front. I held back a little at the start and was then third. I stayed calm and finished my stint. Maxi did a great job subsequently and overtook race leader Kim-Luis Schramm shortly after taking over. He then controlled the race from the front."
Swiss Audi driver Ricardo Feller was second-best Junior. The BWT Mücke Motorsport driver in second place overall also finished on the podium for the first time. P3 went to Mercedes-AMG driver Luca Stolz from Team Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing.
Victory in the Pirelli Trophy classification went for the third time this season to Swiss Lamborghini driver Rolf Ineichen, who narrowly missed taking a championship point along with his partner from GRT Grasser Racing, Christian Engelhart. "Unfortunately, I messed up during qualifying this morning. We tried to make the best of things in the race. I benefited from the chaotic start and moved up quite a few places, after which, I had an error-free drive without any contacts. Ultimately, we can be satisfied with this result."
