At the very last moment, MANN-FILTER Team HTP driver Götz consigned Daniel Keilwitz to second place in the Corvette with his best time of 1:31.730 minutes. For Götz, who shares the car with Markus Pommer, this is his first pole position in the ADAC GT Masters since Oschersleben 2013. "I'm very happy," said the champion from 2012. "I was on the front row several times in 2017, but it was never quite enough for pole position. Things have now finally gone my way. The last lap went well. I had feared at first that I would hit traffic but found a gap and was then able to push again. I knew I could do well on the first sector and managed to string it together and gain some time. We aim to secure as many points as we can today after our unfortunate retirement yesterday. When you're out in front, then you want to keep your place in the sun!"
Callaway Competition driver Daniel Keilwitz and partner Marvin Kirchhöfer will start from second place on the grid. The Corvette duo missed pole by only 25 thousandths of a second. Patrick Assenheimer and Clemens Schmid were third fastest in the Mercedes-AMG prepared by AutoArenA Motorsport but have a ten-place grid penalty following a collision in the first race.
Fourth place in qualifying went to the pole-sitter's team-mates, Indy Dontje and Maxi Buhk, in their 'Mamba'. They were 0.2 seconds slower than Götz. The local favourites from Team ISR completed the Top Five. The Czech Audi team based in Cestlice have a good chance of achieving a good result in their home fixture this Sunday with their driver pairing of Filip Salaquarda and Frank Stippler after coming away empty-handed on Saturday.
