Following a successful 2017 campaign, GRT Grasser Racing Team see themselves once again as contenders for race victories in the 2018 ADAC GT Masters. Their tally of three wins in last year's Super Sports Car League puts them on level pegging with Callaway Competition, the winners of last year's title. In order to increase their punching power, the Knittelfeld-based outfit is this time entering a third Lamborghini Huracán GT3.
Team owner Gottfried Grasser has announced the three driver pairings who will be competing under the Team ORANGE1 by GRT Grasser banner: Ezequiel Perez Companc & Franck Perera, Rolf Ineichen & Christian Engelhart, Mirko Bortolotti & Andrea Caldarelli. GRT have expressed a vote of confidence in the four drivers (Perez Companc, Ineichen, Engelhart and Bortolotti) who secured three race wins for the Lamborghini specialists in the previous ADAC GT Masters campaign. New to the team are Perera and Caldarelli, both of whom are experienced in GT racing.
Gottfried Grasser is optimistic about the season ahead: "I was already very satisfied with the way 2017 turned out. We got all of our three victories in the second race of the respective weekend. If only Sunday races had counted, we would have been in with a good chance of winning the title." He is serious about bringing the title to Austria this year: "In the tried-and-tested Lamborghini Huracán GT3, we have car capable of winning races. A Top Three finish to the season is our minimum target."
