The Argentine-Swiss duo double the size of the squad which already features the two promising youngsters Christopher Dreyspring and Giorgio Maggi. With the third race weekend of the 2018 season about to get underway at Spielberg, Honda Team Schubert intend to make further progress on their steep learning curve. The Oschersleben-based outfit is contesting its first ADAC GT Masters season with the Honda NSX GT3 and is also the only team in Europe to be currently fielding this model.

Honda works driver Guerrieri is one of the world’s most successful touring car contestants. In the current season of the WTCR touring car championship, the Argentinean has already won one race in the context of the 24-hour classic on the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife and made two podium appearances. In 2017, he took fourth place in the predecessor WTCC series on the basis of three wins and five podium finishes. He will be competing in the ADAC GT Masters for the first time this weekend and for the first time in a GT3 car. Pre-race testing provided the 33-year-old from Buenos Aires with an opportunity to familiarise himself with the Honda NSX GT3.

His Swiss team-mate Frommenwiler is a familiar face in the ADAC GT Masters, having already competed in the Super Sports Car League in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. During this time, he made three podium appearances. Frommenwiler is considered to be an out-and-out sports car specialist. This year, he has already competed in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the Daytona 24 Hours and the 12 Hours of Sebring. Frommenwiler and Honda Team Schubert have known each other for quite a while. In the past, the 28-year-old has served in a mentoring capacity to the team’s two juniors, Dreyspring and Maggi. Frommenwiler intends to combine his accumulated knowledge of the Honda NSX GT3 with that of Guerrieri at the Red Bull Ring – and to convert it into tangible results.

After his test in the Honda NSX GT3, I have no doubts in that regard. We already have an excellent relationship with Philipp, and we are happy that he will now be putting his experience and his speed at our disposal under race conditions. With double Honda power and our competitive squad, we have set ourselves the target of finishing in the points. A big thank you also goes to JAS Motorsport for making it possible for us to field the second Honda NSX GT3 at such short notice.”

Axel Randolph, Technical Director of the team, is also sounding upbeat: “The presence of a second car is very important to us from a technical perspective as we seek to develop the vehicle to its optimum potential. We are the only team in Europe to be fielding the new Honda NSX GT3 – that’s a special responsibility and challenge for us. With this second car, we now have a perfect reference point and the opportunity to compare the performance of them both under race conditions."
