Mirko Bortolotti driving a Huracán GT3 entered by ORANGE1 by GRT Grasser set the best time (1:23.592 minutes) of the first 75-minute session in prevailing temperatures of just under five degrees. "It's great to be getting the season underway," said the Italian, "even though there are no prizes to be won here. I am satisfied, but we still have a lot of work to do. It is always cold in Oschersleben at this time of the year. Consequently, the test could be a good preparation for the season opener in mid-April, because last year it was also cold for the Saturday race."
Second fastest was Christian Engelhart in the sister car of the GRT Grasser Racing Team. The German was 54 thousandths of a second slower than Bortolotti. Third place went to Luca Stolz in the best of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 contingent. The Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing driver set a lap time of 1:23.947 minutes.
In fourth place was ADAC GT Masters newcomer Frank Perera in another of the Lamborghinis entered by the GRT Grasser Racing Team on a time of 1:24,204 minutes. The Top Five was completed by Robert Renauer in the best of the Porsche 911 GT3 Rs. His fastest time in the Precote Herberth Motorsport car was 1:24.396 minutes.
A total of 35 vehicles bearing the badges of eight different manufacturers and entered by 23 teams are taking part in the two-day tests. Two more sessions will take place on Monday and Tuesday.
