In recent years, Switzerland's Remo Lips has made a name for himself in the Super Sports Car League. He has 100 race starts to his credit and brings a wealth of experience to Aust Motorsport. The highlights of his career so far are the two championship wins in the Trophy class for amateur drivers (2016 and 2017).
Maximilian Hackländer (27) began his motorsport career in karting in 2003, subsequently honing his skills in single-make cups such as the Volkswagen Polo Cup and in the VLN endurance championship at the Nürburgring. He made a couple of appearances in the 2016 ADAC GT Masters before completing his first full season last year. His best result of the 2017 campaign was a runner-up spot at the Red Bull Ring. Lips and Hackländer will share the cockpit of an Audi R8 LMS.
"We are very pleased to have put the finishing touches to our ADAC GT Masters squad for 2018," says team boss Frank Aust. "Our four drivers combine the qualities of experience and talent, and what’s more, they are really likeable characters. We are ready for the challenges of the upcoming season and are confident that we can build on the successes we had in 2017."
Aust Motorsport announced some weeks ago that the driver pairing for their other Audi R8 LMS would be Frédéric Vervisch from Belgium and Nikolaj Rogivue from Switzerland.
