Danish driver Sylvest is contesting his third season for Zakspeed. During the recent official ADAC GT Masters tests at Oschersleben, the 20-year-old caused a stir by setting the best lap time. His new partner, Kim-Luis Schramm, is also only 20 years old and is graduating to the ADAC GT Masters from ADAC Formula 4. In 2016, he finished fifth in the ADAC High-Speed Academy. He impressed the team management during the tests, raising his performance from session to session.
Schramm is sounding upbeat about his first season in the Super Sports Car League: "I am delighted to be competing in the ADAC GT Masters this year. My first season is going to be about gaining experience and getting to know the car and the team. Let's see what comes out of it in the end. I'm happy to have been chosen to race for a team as good as Zakspeed."
Team boss Peter Zakowski is well pleased with his squad, which includes Sebastian Asch and Luca Stolz in the first of the two Mercedes-AMGs: "I am glad that the process of selecting our drivers is complete. I feel that we have two ideal driver pairings in Asch and Stolz and in Schramm and Sylvest. On his return to the series, Sebastian has immediately integrated into the team and is helping to motivate everyone. After his rookie year in 2017, Luca will certainly be in line for a long-overdue first win for Zakspeed. Our two Juniors are both strong contenders. I am very pleased that we have secured Nicolai's services for another year in the team, and Kim has more than recommended himself by virtue of his great performance in the tests."
