Hohenstein-Ernstthal: The ADAC GT Masters is going for continuity once more with seven meets and an attractive and fan-friendly support programme planned for the 2020 calendar. As is by now the tradition, the 14th season of the ADAC GT Masters will open at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on the weekend of 24th-26th April 2020 and finish at the Sachsenring, 2nd-4th October 2020. In conjunction with the Super Sports Car League, the ADAC GT4 Germany, the ADAC TCR Germany, the ADAC Formula 4 and the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland will hold races in Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and the Netherlands next year. SPORT1 will broadcast all races live and in full on free-to-air TV in 2020. Entrants in the ADAC GT Masters will again compete for prize money totalling 500,000 euros plus additional prizes of equipment in 2020.
"Our event package with five series and the ADAC GT Masters at the top of the tree has been very well received by fans and participants this year, and we intend to continue in the same vein in 2020. We're going for continuity as regards the calendar and sporting regs, sticking to tried and tested venues again next year. 2020 will mark reaching two milestones in the ADAC GT Masters. It will be ten years since the series first appeared on TV live and in full, and we will stage our 200th race," said ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk.
For the 13th time in a row, the season will start in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 24th to 26th April 2020. Three weeks later, the ADAC GT Masters will be at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic from May 15th to 17th, 2020, before heading to Austria's Red Bull Ring three weeks after that from June 5th to 7th, 2020. Following the summer break, during which the European Football Championship and the Olympic Games will take place, the title fight will get really serious at the Nürburgring, 14th to 16th August 2020. Zandvoort in the Netherlands will then host the series just one week later, 21st to 23rd August 2020. The sixth meeting is scheduled for 18th to 20th September 2020. The venue has yet to be confirmed. The finale will take place from 2nd to 4th October 2020 at the Sachsenring as in 2019.
The ADAC TCR Germany will line up on the support programme at all ADAC GT Masters events in 2020. The ADAC GT4 Germany will be there for six events as in 2019. With the exception of Autodrom Most, the ADAC Formula 4 will also take part in all race meetings and will contest an additional round to be confirmed at a later date. The Porsche Carrera Cup Germany will also feature as an integral part of the events platform in 2020.
As regards the regulations, the ADAC GT Masters plans to remain consistent in 2020 with only minor adjustments being made.
