Aust Motorsport are all set for the start of the ADAC GT Masters season this weekend at Oschersleben. The German racing team will again field Audis as it gets its fourth year in the Super Sports Car League under way and will compete with two updated R8 LMSs.
Maximilian Hackländer and Remo Lips were team-mates at Aust in 2018 and will drive the R8 with start number #3. Lips won the Pirelli Trophy for amateur drivers at the end of last year. Maximilian Hackländer: "Basically, I would like to repeat my performance from 2018. I qualified several times in the Top Ten, which is my aim again this season."
Team Principal Frank Aust was also confident after the pre-season tests at Oschersleben: "We returned home from the two test days with an excellent set of results: Maximilian has shown a sharp increase in form since the middle of the 2018 season and we've almost always been among the top three fastest Audis ever since. And Remo too has worked hard to improve during the winter break and was able to significantly undercut his times from last year."
Two newcomers will race the sister car. 20-year-old Arlind Hoti lined up in ADAC Formula 4 in 2015 and is now switching from karting to GT3 racing. "I aim to finish in the Top Ten and will do everything possible to achieve that," said the German driver, who has already tested an Audi R8 LMS for Aust. His partner will be Porsche Cup veteran Wolfgang Triller.
"We're well placed for 2019," said Aust. "I'm really looking forward to getting started again at last."
