Comments from the Sachsenring paddock: Changeable conditions during free practice at the historic circuit in Saxony

Ricardo Feller (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS): "It's a tricky situation, of course, but on the other hand, it is also quite a thrill to be competing against your team-mate for the Pirelli Junior title. Logically, we both want to win it because, after all, it's a very prestigious title for us younger drivers and could certainly be a big help for our future careers. In any case, I will be giving it everything I've got and hoping that we settle it on the track in a fair contest - that would obviously be the ideal outcome. We all know that a lot can happen on a race weekend. With regard to the overall standings, I'm hopeful that we can finish in the Top Five in both races. The team has traditionally done well here at the Sachsenring. If everything goes according to plan, that should be the case this time too."

Maximilian Götz (Mann-Filter Team HTP, Mercedes-AMG GT3): "We are feeling highly motivated. The season hasn't gone quite as we would have wished. Actually, we we've consistently performed well, but we've frequently had bad luck, so it's been difficult for us. In the championship, we are currently in fourth place. We've prepared well for the weekend and will now be going all out to finish the season as team championship runners-up. The weekend has gone quite well so far - we know that the car has potential here and that it's a track we can handle well. Personally, I like the track a lot - it's one of my favourites. We're not worried about the weather: we've been among the front-runners in both the wet and the dry, so it can do what it likes."

Max Hofer (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS): "It's not a definite expectation, but I'd like to get podiums this weekend. Unfortunately, we lost a lot of ground at Hockenheim, so our objective now is to finish as high up the championship table as possible. The same goes for the Pirelli Junior class. If everything goes according to plan, Ricardo [Feller] and I have a good chance of qualifying as the two fastest Juniors or at least in the Top Five. Battling it out on the racetrack would certainly be cool, but Ricardo has now pulled out a sizeable lead. We are both very much a match for each other and are similarly placed in the field, so it would take a bit of luck for me to end up with the Junior title."

Sebastian Asch (HB Racing, Ferrari 488 GT3): "We're quite pleased, actually. We coped well with the wet conditions in FP2 and also did well this morning in the dry. Still, we probably won't know where we ultimately stand until tomorrow in qualifying. We found the going tough last year here at the Sachsenring, but I feel quite confident at the moment. I think things should work out quite well for us this weekend."

Thomas Preining (Precote Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "We had a great first day and did well both in the dry and in the rain, so we can be very pleased. Obviously, we're now hoping to have two good races. We can lay the basis for that in qualifying and will do our utmost to start from high up the field. It's important now to finish the season well - for the team, for our mechanics, but also for us drivers. It would be nice to secure another podium after a tough season, so of course, we'll give it our all."

Lucas Luhr (Iron Force Racing, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "Things were actually quite good to begin with in first practice, as the track gradually got faster. However, we struggled in this afternoon's rain, so we're hoping the race will be dry. One of the downsides to today's changeable conditions was that we were unable to finish the setup. Tomorrow's qualifying will certainly be challenging."

Mirko Bortolotti (Orange1 by GRT Grasser Racing, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo): "That was definitely a good day for us. We drove in the dry and in the wet and as a result, should be well prepared for the weekend. I'm wondering what the weather will be like on Saturday and Sunday. Practice in the wet was excellent, but we were also very pleased with the way things went in the dry. Our chances of winning the team title are definitely still intact, and for us drivers, it's important that we finish as championship runners-up. With all that in mind, we have a lot of things planned for this weekend and intend to achieve the maximum."
