Driving for BMW Team Schnitzer last season, he finished tenth in the Pirelli Junior classification and was 28th overall but is now returning to the Audi brand, with which he made his debut in the ADAC GT Masters in 2017. Prior to that, he secured several victories in the Audi Sport TT Cup.
Marschall told us: "I’m delighted to become part of the squad at HCB-Rutronik Racing and can’t wait to get back in a racing car. I’ve known Carrie for quite a while now, as we used to compete alongside one another in karting and have always got on well together. We’re both very much aware of just how high standards in the series are and know that the task ahead of us will not be easy. However, we see this as a positive step in our development and are both confident that we’ll be on course to finish in the Top Ten from time to time."
Following Marschall’s signing, the cockpit in HCB-Rutronik’s first Audi R8 LMS is now fully occupied. Speaking about the outfit’s future plans, Team Principal Fabian Plentz told us: "Everyone in the team is looking forward to the fresh challenge we face in the ADAC GT Masters. We’re all keen to get established in this highly competitive championship and become front-runners as quickly as possible. We intend to announce the names of the rest of our squad of drivers in the very near future."
