The opening weekend of the 2019 ADAC GT Masters not only went down well with the 25,000 fans who came through the gates at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, it was also a big hit on television. The live broadcast of Sunday race and of the victory for Porsche duo Robert Renauer and Thomas Preining by free-to-air TV channel SPORT1 pulled in an average audience of 390,000, peaking at 550,000. The figures represent a market share of 3.9% in the core target group of male fans aged between 14 and 59 years.
SPORT1 has been official TV partner to the ADAC GT Masters since 2015. The live broadcasts were presented by Sarah Valentina with commentary provided by Patrick Simon (ADAC GT Masters and ADAC GT4 Germany) and Peter Kohl (ADAC TCR Germany and ADAC Formula 4).
The start of the ADAC GT Masters season was popular not only at the track itself and on TV, but also online. The livestreams of the two ADAC GT Masters races and of the new ADAC GT4 Germany were accessed up to 50,000 times.
