The 38-year-old World Sports Car champion is sounding upbeat ahead of the official preseason tests at Oschersleben next week (8th - 9th April): "I'm really looking forward to the new season in the ADAC GT Masters. It's the fourth campaign for KÜS Team75 Bernhard and the second for me in my combined role as driver and team owner. Our results towards the end of last season showed that we are up there with the front-runners in terms of performance. Over the winter, we have been consolidating, and I think we will absolutely be competitive. I am highly motivated, and anyone who knows me also knows that I am very ambitious. We have stability in our driver squad and in our crew; it is this consistency that gives us strength and power. And with the new Porsche 911 GT3 R, which was developed by the engineers in Weissach, we are starting from a good basis. Bring on Oschersleben, I say."
Bernhard will be sharing one of the team's two upgraded Porsche 911 GT3 Rs with Klaus Bachler who drove for the outfit in 2018, albeit in the second of their two 911s. "Being in the same car as Timo is obviously an excellent thing, and I'm very happy about it," says the Austrian, who claimed one pole position in 2018. "I think we have a consistent and strong driver line-up. In the new GT3 R, we have a very good car which represents a step forward on last year. I just can't wait for the season to start."
The second car to be fielded by the team based in Bruchmühlbach-Miesau near Kaiserslautern will be driven by Adrien de Leener and Porsche protégé Matteo Cairoli. "I am very happy to be back with KÜS Team75 Bernhard and to be looking at the prospect of a complete ADAC GT Masters season together with my new partner Adrien De Leener," said Cairoli, who contested two ADAC GT Masters races for the team in 2016. "I've missed the cut and thrust of the competition - you won't find better anywhere else." For de Leener, it will be his third season with the team: "I want to say a big thankyou to Timo and Klaus for bringing me back for my third season in the toughest championship of all. KÜS Team75 Bernhard, Porsche and our partners have invested a lot to make us and the new Porsche 911 GT3 R a really strong package. I would also like to especially thank Klaus Bachler, with whom I achieved some solid results last season. He helped a lot with my development, and I wish him all the best in the number 17 car. I am very motivated about working with Matteo this year. He is extremely fast, and I have no doubt that we will get some decent results. With Timo and Klaus Bachler in the sister car and with Klaus Graf as team manager, we have a lot of continuity and experience in the team. This gives us an excellent basis on which to succeed as a team this year."
