ADAC GT Masters·26.4.2019

What the drivers had to say after Friday practice : Comments after practice

Sebastian Asch (HB Racing, Ferrari 488 GT3): "We did good in practice, and the Ferrari went really well too. Still, it's tomorrow's results that count. Only then will we know where we ultimately stand in this year's starting field."

Frank Stippler (Team ISR, Audi R8 LMS): "Things are looking very positive as regards the standings, but of course, it's impossible to how much potential the other teams have already shown. If it rains, then we can expect a demanding and action-packed race, but as it's usually very windy here in Oschersleben that means it won't rain much. Of course, we're hoping that conditions will be good throughout."

Marvin Kirchhöfer (Callaway Competition, Corvette C7 GT3-R): "While Oschersleben is not really our sort of track, we are pleased that things have gone well so far for us. There's a few things we could try out in order to be better prepared for the first few races than in previous years, but up until now, none of the other teams have shown what they can do. We will know tomorrow after qualifying exactly where we stand."

Indy Dontje (Mann-Filter Team HTP, Mercedes AMG GT3): "Things have gone well for us so far today. We did well in second practice and are in an excellent position for tomorrow's qualifying. As for the weather, I'm not worried. I'm a Dutchman and like the rain in any case. We had sun and rain in equal measures last year, which makes it a game of chance. Hopefully, we'll make the right choices!"

Maximilian Paul (T3 Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS): "We had a few problems initially with the car's setup, but we improved and posted some good times in second practice. Our team is contesting its first ADAC GT Masters season this year, and we still have to get used to the Oschersleben track. We'll have to wait and see how we do in the wet, but we feel quite relaxed, as conditions are the same for everyone."

Franck Perera (Orange1 by GRT Grasser, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo): "This first day has been excellent. The season has started and standards in the ADAC GT Masters are very high as usual. The team did a good job. We've had to change things round following the decision just before the weekend to make Rolf Ineichen my partner, but we already know each other well from last year's Blancpain GT series. The car feels great by the way."

David Jahn (RWT Racing, Corvette C7 GT3-R): "I'm quite satisfied generally speaking. We realised earlier in testing that we've got things well sorted. Sven and I feel comfortable in the car. Of course, it's a great way to start the season, to go out and secure best time straightaway, but it's tomorrow that really counts. It would be great to qualify in the Top Ten but a place in the Top Fifteen would be good too. After that, we just need to have a clean race."
