In Bleekemolen, the team based in the Eifel region has recruited a GT driver with a proven track record. Having competed in more than 660 races, the Dutchman is the most experienced member of the Zakspeed squad and can look back on more than 120 race wins, including overall victories in the Nürburgring 24 Hours and class victories at Sebring and Le Mans. The 37-year-old has also left his mark on the ADAC GT Masters. He made his debut at the Nürburgring in 2007 and has since competed in no fewer than 30 races. Bleekemolen took pole position on four occasions, and at Oschersleben in 2015, he and Luca Stolz notched up the only Bentley victory in the Super Sports Car League to date. Bleekemolen will share one of the two Zakspeed Mercedes-AMG cockpits with Jimmy Eriksson.
"We are very happy to have secured the services of someone as experienced and fast as Jeroen Bleekemolen," said Zakspeed Team Principal Philipp Zakowski. "He is one of the best GT drivers out there, and what's more, he knows the car very well. He will definitely be an asset to our team, and we look forward to the new season with optimism."
In the second car entered by the racing outfit, ADAC Formula 4 graduate Mick Wishofer will be making his ADAC GT Masters debut. The 19-year-old Austrian finished the 2018 season of the junior competition in sixth place, registering one victory in the process. Wishofer will be partnering ADAC GT Masters returnee Kelvin Snoeks.
