Marvin Dienst (DLV-Team Schütz Motorsport, Mercedes-AMG GT3), P1 overall, winner in the Pirelli Junior classification: "With the team having had to wait so long for another victory and with us having had problems with the setup at Hockenheim which necessitated a complete overhaul of the car, it's obviously great to bounce back with a victory. We asserted our lead right from the start, and because we were leading the field with an open road in front of us, we were able to manage our tyres well. We also had good pace overall. The objective was to establish an early lead so as not to allow our opponents to benefit from slipstream and then to hang on to our position even after the tyres started to degrade, which is what we had been expecting to happen towards the end of the race."
Philipp Frommenwiler (DLV-Team Schütz Motorsport, Mercedes-AMG GT3), P1 overall: "I really enjoyed the final laps. We didn't have the easiest of starts to the season and are now back on the road to success. Marvin already did a top job with the pole position in qualifying, and the team gave us a sensational car for the race. This victory today goes some way towards compensating us for a few weekends where things didn't go so well. It was important that we had a good pit stop, allowing me to drive at my own pace. Towards the end of the race, I realised that we had built a good lead, which meant we were able to remain fully in control. This is an important step forward for us. We certainly hadn't been expecting things to go so well today. For the moment, we are happy about the victory, and we'll try to keep it up."
Robert Renauer (Precote Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P2 overall: "We are very satisfied with second place, not least because we have been able to further reduce the gap on the leaders in the overall standings. All in all, we made good progress this weekend with regard to the setup of our car. We had a clean start in the race and tried to keep up with the pace of the leaders as the race progressed."
Sven Müller (Precote Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P2 overall: "We had our opponents in our rear-view mirror all the time, so it was vital for us to have an error-free race because overtaking is tricky here at the Sachsenring. Ultimately, it was an exhausting race, but it was still a lot of fun. Our Porsche went very well on the straights, while the Mercedes AMGs, which are very strong here, benefit from their more conspicuous aerodynamics in the corners. But anyway, we have another chance to aim for the top in tomorrow's qualifying."
Luca Stolz (Toksport WRT, Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo), P3 overall: "Our race went quite well, and we were able to gain some ground at the start. The team did a terrific job again today. Unfortunately, this morning's qualifying wasn't entirely satisfactory. There's certainly a bit of room for improvement in that respect. However, after experiencing a tough weekend at Hockenheim, it's great to be back where we were previously in the races. We intend to attack again in round two on Sunday."
Maro Engel (Toksport WRT, Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo), P3 overall: "After experiencing a season first-half that was pretty good overall, we are obviously delighted with our podium today. We were successful in the detailed analysis of our rather poor performance at Hockenheim and have reduced the deficit. As a result, we're now back up front once again. Even though the Evo version of the Mercedes-AMG is very competitive, Schütz and their team took a well-deserved win today with the previous model. It's important at this juncture that we continue to gain a good understanding of tyres and set-up in order to secure a decent position on the grid in tomorrow's qualifying."
