Keilwitz and Eriksson set to remain at Zakspeed: Famous team announce first pair of drivers

The two of them would like to build on last season’s upward trend when they finished in the Top Five three times in the last four races. “Jimmy and Daniel complement each other perfectly,” said Team Principal, Philipp Zakowski.

Zakspeed have in their team record-breaking ADAC GT Masters race winner, Daniel Keilwitz, who is one of the most experienced, fastest and most successful ADAC GT Masters drivers in the series. The German has taken 22 wins from a total of 136 starts, more than any other driver in the ADAC GT Masters. Keilwitz won the championship in 2013 along with Diego Alessi and almost repeated this triumph in 2017, but a broken leg forced him to miss a couple of races and Jules Gounon, who was his team-mate at the time, became sole champion.

Keilwitz will share the drive with Jimmy Eriksson, who contested a full season with Team Zakspeed in 2019. Eriksson made his ADAC GT Masters debut in 2018 at the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracán GT3. 2020 will mark the start of his third season in the Super Sports Car League, in which he has lined up 28 times in all.

“We are pleased to be able to announce our first driver pairing for this season at this early stage in the year,” said Team Principals, Peter and Philipp Zakowski. “With Daniel and Jimmy, we have a very strong driver pairing, with whom we can definitely compete up front. Daniel is one of the best drivers in the field. Jimmy also produced some very strong performances in the last few races and has found his feet in the team. We can’t wait to see what the new season will bring and are really looking forward to the opening round at Oschersleben.”
