Twenty-year-old Ortmann made his first acquaintance with the Super Sports Car League in 2017 and has achieved a great deal since, including seventh place twice in the Junior standings, third place in the overall standings in 2018 and victory in the Junior class at the Nürburgring. He finished 2019 twelfth in the final standings and was very successful in ADAC Formula 4 during 2015 and 2016 before joining the series. Jannes Fittje is also aged 20 and spent last season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany where he came 18th in the final classification. He raced in GP3 during 2018 and was in Formula 3 and ADAC Formula 4 prior to that.
Team Principal, Timo Bernhard, is delighted with his new signings: "I'm really pleased with our crew in car #18. We have acquired the services of two top young stars, Mike David Ortmann and Jannes Fittje, to drive our Porsche 911 GT3 R. We hope to achieve a great deal with them. They are both around the same age. Mike David has already had three years in the ADAC GT Masters and is quite experienced as a result. He knows all the tracks and is familiar with the way things are done. Jannes is coming to us from single-seater racing, having just spent a year in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and is new to the ADAC GT Masters and GT3. This young, fresh driver pairing will really complement Simona De Silvestro and Klaus Bachler, our crew in the #17 sister car, so we are well prepared for the season ahead. We will now work in detail on preparations for the 2020 ADAC GT Masters season."
Series newcomer, Jannes Fittje, can hardly wait for the season to get under way: "I'm really looking forward to the 2020 season with KÜS Team75 Bernhard. From our meetings and discussions, I know that the environment there will be conducive to achieving success in the 2020 ADAC GT Masters. The series and team have the professionalism I first came across when I was in GP3. It's something normally only found in other top-class GT series such as the World Endurance Championship. I hope I can quickly learn from Timo Bernhard's and Klaus Graf's vast experience. I find the Porsche 911 GT3 R really interesting. It fascinates me, and I'm very much looking forward to driving a car with some downforce again, something I've missed a little since my time in open-wheel racing."
Mike David Ortmann, who raced an Audi R8 LMS prepared by BWT Mücke Motorsport from 2017 to 2019, finished by saying: "I'm really looking forward to my season in the ADAC GT Masters with KÜS Team75 Bernhard. It's going to be mega! We've been in talks with Timo, Klaus and the team for quite some time and I am extremely pleased that we've now managed to put together a package with a great team-mate and strong partners. I can't wait to sit in the car for the first time. I'm looking forward to the opening round and to working with the team, for sure!"
