ADAC GT Masters·30.7.2020

Team ISR ready for season opener: Salaquarda and Stippler once again as driving squad

The team led by Igor Salaquarda is gearing up to face its third complete season in the popular German series for GT cars with the drivers paring Filip Salaquarda/Frank Stippler in the #33 Audi R8 LMS featuring a new and sleek livery.

The Czech outfit does not need introductions, nor its drivers. Salaquarda is at his fourth season in ADAC GT Masters, that is the third with Team ISR. His feeling behind the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS is very good as he has been racing it since 2016. The 308 races and a constant presence in GT competitions since 2011 certainly make Salaquarda one of the most experienced drivers on the starting grid.

Stippler is one of the most popular and successful German drivers. He is an Audi Sport official driver and has been competing for Team ISR since 2016 and on Ingolstadt-made cars since 2004. The drivers have been working together for several seasons now and will get to this opening round after the positive testing session held at the 3.442 meters of the Lausitzring, the circuit that ADAC GT Masters did not compete on since 2017. The track features few straights, perhaps the only one is the pit straight that takes advantage of the banking. The round at Lausitzring will certainly be spectacular since 33 cars are confirmed at the start.

Team Principal Igor Salaquarda says: "We are happy on finally getting back on track. Being far from the racing action for such a long period was not easy and we hope to be back soon to normality also in motorsport. We have a very experienced team, Filip and Frank know each other very well and the Audi R8 LMS does not have secrets to them. This makes us positive for the season. The weather and hot temperatures are going to be a crucial factor here at Nürburgring, but we have raced in even warmer weeks, therefore, we have good data to base our setup on".
