Mercedes-AMG works driver Gounon is returning to the German GT Championship for the first time since winning the title in 2017. H currently has six race wins and three pole positions to his name in the series. “I am delighted to be back in the ADAC GT Masters,” says Gounon. “The series is very close to my heart, as it was here that I had my breakthrough as a GT driver. Managing director Philipp Zakowski is optimistic ahead of the new season: “We obviously want to be challenging at the front of the field. It is great that Mercedes-AMG have provided us with such a strong driver as Jules Gounon. We are looking forward to working with him. Hendrik Still impressed us on his outings in 2020. In Constantin Schöll, he has a young and talented team-mate at his side.”
Zakspeed has been racing in the ADAC GT Masters since 2014 and won the Drivers’ Championship in 2015. Last November, the team from Niederzissen won the Sunday race at the Lausitzring.
