In Mick Wishofer, MRS GT-Racing has now confirmed the second driver of its Porsche 911 GT3 R.
The Austrian will team up with Maximilian Hackländer, who is also new to the team from Lonsee. Both drove for MRS at the pre-season test in Oschersleben. They set the eighth-fastest time at the dress rehearsal for the German GT Championship.
“The test went well and was a great motivation for the team,” says Wishofer, who took victory at the Lausitzring in 2020. “I was very positively surprised by the Porsche. I expected it to be different to drive compared to last year’s Mercedes-AMG, but I did not think the difference would be so big. As both the drivers and the car are new to the team, we may possibly take a little time at first, but my goal is to challenge for the title in the Pirelli Junior competition. I have already made it onto the podium in the overall standings and want to continue in that vein.”
Iris Dorr, team manager at MRS GT-Racing, is also confident ahead of the new season, which kicks off next week (14th to 16th May) in Oschersleben: “Our goal is to finish as high up as possible. The test was very promising. Max did a great job. Mick still had to get used to the 911 a little, but you could see how talented he is. We are pleased to be lining up with Porsche again, as that is, to a certain degree, where we are most at home. We also entered the ADAC GT Masters with Porsche in 2011.”
