ADAC GT Masters·26.11.2021

New start time for the 2022 German GT Championship

Live coverage on NITRO to begin at 12:30 in the future – race start at 13:00. Teams benefit from attractive deals if they enter by mid-December. Gift idea: Early bird discounts on tickets purchased by end of year. Free admission for children aged 16 and under.

A regular start time for all races: Next year, all 14 races in the International German GT Championship will start at the same time on both the Saturday and the Sunday. In 2022, viewers watching on TV and via livestream will always be in pole position at 12:30, when live TV partner NITRO starts its coverage. The lights then go green half an hour later. Teams can register for the 2022 International German GT Championship from 27th November. The season kicks off from 22nd to 24th April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Tickets are already on sale, with attractive deals available if booked by the end of December.

NITRO boss Oliver Schablitzki: “With the addition of the ADAC GT Masters to our TV programme, we established a real highlight in NITRO’s ever-expanding motorsport offering in 2021. We are very happy with the result and the way the partnership with the ADAC played out. The German GT Championship not only provided excellent entertainment right through to the season finale, but the way the figures have developed has also been very positive. With the new broadcast times, we are also responding to the desire of the fans and teams to start the races earlier.”

“After the spectacular finale at the Nürburgring, we sat down with RTL Deutschland and analysed the season. The figures for the German GT Championship have developed strongly on NITRO. We are looking forward to the second season with NITRO,” said ADAC Board member Lars Soutschka.

For the competitors, preparation for the new ADAC GT Masters season is already underway. Teams that register for the International German GT Championship between 27th November and 15th December will benefit from attractive deals. “We have already received a lot of interest and positive feedback from familiar teams, and some new ones,” said ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss. “The new GT3 cars we are expecting to see next year are also generating extra interest.” Audi will line up with the R8 LMS GT3 evo II, a further development of this year’s championship-winning car, while the BMW M4 GT3 is set for its debut. Several new teams are planning to enter the German GT Championship. They include the newly-formed ZVO Racing team of Philipp Zakowski and former driver Jörg van Ommen, which will start together with Mercedes-AMG.
