ADAC GT Masters·11.6.2021

Quotes from the Spielberg paddock

What the drivers had to say after the first two practice sessions in the ADAC GT Masters at the Red Bull Ring.

David Jahn (Team Joos Sportwagentechnik, Porsche 911 GT3 R): “It is always nice to be here in the mountains. I really like the circuit and the scenery. We came into the race weekend in a very positive mood, thanks to the good results in the last race. We want to be as close to the front of the field as possible again and I hope we can perform well again.”

Simon Reicher (Yaco Racing Team, Audi R8 LMS): “I think it is great to be here in Spielberg. There is nothing better than driving on your own doorstep. We will be trying to finish in the points again like we did in the second race in Oschersleben, and will do our best.”

Mirko Bortolotti (GRT Grasser Racing Team, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo): “As it is every year, it is very nice to be racing with GRT Grasser in Spielberg. It is hard to predict what will happen in qualifying and the races. We will focus on our job and try to get the car as good as possible. I am happy with our work so far and am confident about the race weekend.”

Raffaele Marciello (Mann-Filter Team Landgraf HTP/WWR, Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo): “It is not actually going that well. We are struggling against the Porsche, Lamborghini and Audi. I set my best time on new tyres. We will see where we really stand in tomorrow’s qualifying. I hope I can make it into the top five.”

Constantin Schöll (Team Zakspeed Mobil Krankenkasse Racing, Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo): “The home races are always the best of the season. I am pleased that we get to go racing tomorrow. We have had a good pace so far. I think we can finish in the points this weekend – as we hoped to do in Oschersleben. Unfortunately, something prevented us from managing that there. I am glad that we will finally have spectators again. It is nice to see fans back in the grandstands sharing the ADAC GT Masters experience with you.”
