The GRT Grasser Racing Team has added another promising young driver to its squad in the ADAC GT Masters. ADAC Stiftung Sport driver Hugo Sasse will line up alongside Lamborghini junior Tim Zimmermann for the run-in at the end of this season’s German GT Championship.
The new pairing in the #82 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo will make their debut together at the Sachsenring next week. Sasse is contesting his rookie season in the 2021 ADAC GT Masters and has started for T3 Motorsport up to this point. He wasted little time in demonstrating his talent at the season-opener in Oschersleben, where he finished in the points. The youngest driver in the field has scored points at three of the four race weekends so far. Furthermore, the 17-year-old from Aschersleben has claimed two top-five results in the Pirelli Junior competition.
“I am really looking forward to working with the GRT Grasser Racing Team,” said Sasse. “They have a lot of experience and I am excited about what we can achieve together. I think we have a good basis. I am already familiar with the car, which is definitely an advantage when it comes to starting together. I am sure that Tim and I will get on well. I don’t know him personally, but I already knew of him when I was racing karts. I am looking forward to learning from him and am confident that we will be able to challenge for points from the word go.”
Team principal Gottfried Grasser says: “I believe strongly in this pairing. We know Tim’s qualities and, in the case of Hugo, saw in the first few races that he immediately did a very good job as a rookie. We are proud to be able to support the youngest driver in the field this way. In our team, opportunities for talented newcomers have always played a major role. We want to support these drivers and give them all they need to learn, grow and achieve good results. I am really looking forward to the coming races and am sure that we will hear an awful lot more from this duo.”
