ADAC GT Masters driver Aitken remains involved in Formula 1 with Williams Racing

Another challenge for Jack Aitken: The ADAC GT Masters newcomer will again be official reserve driver for Williams Racing in Formula 1. He also lines up in this season’s German GT Championship with the Emil Frey Racing team. The 26-year-old will share the cockpit of a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo with Lamborghini works driver Albert Costa (31/E).

The British-Korean driver has been part of the Williams family since 2020. The contract with the team in the pinnacle of motor racing has now been extended for the coming season. Aitken will continue to support Williams Racing at the circuit at selected Grand Prix weekends, as well as in the simulator, where he already plays an important role in developing the race car.

“Formula 1 remains the pinnacle in the world of motorsport, and I am pleased to still be driving and doing my bit for Williams Racing in what is such an important year for the sport. I am fortunate enough to have a fantastic relationship with Alex [Albon] and Nicky [Latifi], so I am looking forward to supporting them this season. I am obviously ready to jump into the car whenever I am needed,” says Aitken.

Emil Frey Racing will field three Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo in the 2022 ADAC GT Masters. The season kicks off from 22nd to 24th April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. TV station NITRO will broadcast all the races live, from 12:30 on Saturday and Sunday.
