Experienced pro and youngster: Land-Motorsport announces its second driver pairing

Montaplast by Land-Motorsport has announced its two drivers for the number 28 Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II: This season, last year’s championship winning team will line up with 2007 ADAC GT Masters champion Christopher Haase (34/Kulmbach) and newcomer Salman Owega (16/Cologne). Earlier in the week, Land-Motorsport had already confirmed that Tim Zimmermann (25/Lochau) will drive the number 1 car alongside reigning ADAC GT Masters champion Christopher Mies (32/Düsseldorf).

In Haase, the team has a genuine stalwart of the ADAC GT Masters: The Audi Sport customer racing driver has contested just short of 150 races since the series made its debut back in 2007, when he was crowned the inaugural champion in a Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 run by the Reiter Engineering team. “We are perfectly attuned with each other,” said team manager Christian Land. “Haasi was on board in our first season with Audi in 2016. We really value his ability to develop a car and drive a team forward.”

Owega, on the other hand, is the youngster in the team. However, the ADAC GT Masters is by no means uncharted territory for the 16-year-old. Last year, he made two guest appearances at the end of the season and became the youngest starter in the history of the German GT Championship. “The lad has real potential,” said Wolfgang Land. “Furthermore, the Audi R8 LMS GT3 is not new to him. Together with his team-mate and the entire team, he will make gradual progress and learn a lot this season. I am sure of that.”

Who will be at the wheel of the team’s third car in 2022 will be announced exclusively in Sunday’s episode of PS on Air – The Ravenol ADAC GT Masters Talk. The programme starts at 13:00 and can be viewed online at adac.de/motorsport, youtube.com/adac and on the ADAC GT Masters Facebook channel.
