Jules Gounon disqualified, Christopher Mies starts from pole

The magical time set by Jules Gounon (27/F) in Q2 at the Sachsenring on Sunday did not last long. During the technical inspection performed by the technical inspectors of the DMSB after the qualifying session, the fuel quantity specified in the regulations (art. 29.a 1) could not be taken from the #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Drago Racing Team ZVO #4. Only 0.9 kg of the required 2.0 kg of fuel could be taken from the car within the deadline of ten minutes.

Based on this information, the stewards have disqualified Jules Gounon and his partner Fabian Schiller (25/Troisdorf) from the second qualifying session and relegated the duo to last place on the grid. This makes Christopher Mies (33/Düsseldorf) the new pole-sitter in the #1 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II #1 of Montaplast by Land-Motorsport. Fellow Audi driver Dennis Marschall (26/Eggenstein) starts race twelve of this season’s German GT Championship alongside him on the front row of the grid in the #27 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II run by von Rutronik Racing. All the other cars also move up one position.
