Iris Dorr’s team lines up at this weekend’s ADAC GT Masters weekend with Jaxon Evans from New Zealand and Germany’s Leon Köhler. Both drivers will be making their debut in the German GT Championship with ID Racing at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Evans has already made a number of appearances in the Porsche 911 GT3 R, including the 12-hour race in Bathurst, and the 25-year-old is optimistic ahead of the event in Spielberg: “I am thrilled to start for ID Racing in the ADAC GT Masters, and to have Leon as my team-mate. We know each other from the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. I have already gained some experience in the Porsche 911 GT3 R, and am now looking to build on that. We have a lot to learn and some hard work ahead of us, but we go into the races with plenty of confidence and obviously hope we might even finish in the points.”
In contrast, the 550-hp super sports car is new territory for 22-year-old Köhler: “I am very excited to see what awaits me in the ADAC GT Masters. I have never sat in a GT3 car before, so am delighted that ID Racing has given me the opportunity to do so – and to share the cockpit with Jaxon. I can learn a lot from him. We will do our best.” The young man from Kleinwallstadt has impressed in recent years in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, in which the majority of the races share the bill with the ADAC GT Masters. Köhler has finished third overall for the last two seasons.
German TV station NITRO will broadcast the ADAC GT Masters live, from 12:30 on Saturday and Sunday. The races and qualifying sessions will also be streamed live and free of charge at adac.de/motorsport, youtube.com/adacmotorsports and motorsport.tv.
