The Rutronik Racing team was again in unbeatable form in Friday’s second free practice session ahead of the opening round of this season’s ADAC GT Masters in Oschersleben. In overcast conditions and temperatures around 15 degrees, Kim-Luis Schramm (24/Meuspath) set the fastest lap time of 1:23.315 minutes at the wheel of the #27 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II to present the team with its second success of the weekend. Earlier in the morning, his partner Dennis Marschall (25/Eggenstein) had won the first practice session with the fastest time of the day – 1:22.549 minutes.
Second place in FP2 went to the #14 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo run by the Emil Frey Racing team. The duo of Konsta Lappalainen (20/FIN) and Mick Wishofer (22/A) narrowly missed out on the top spot by just 0.017 seconds. In third place were Jonathan Aberdein (24/ZA) and Raffaele Marciello (27/I) of Mann-Filter Team Landgraf in the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
The second Emil Frey Racing duo of Jack Aitken (26/GB) and Albert Costa Balboa (31/E) were fourth fastest in the #63 Lamborghini. The #20 BMW M4 GT3 of Schubert Motorsport, with Jesse Krohn (31/FIN) and Nicky Catsburg (34/NL) at the wheel, ended the session in fifth place.
Kim-Luis Schramm, Rutronik Racing: “First place in both practice sessions – we did not expect to be so strong. Our package is very well suited to the track and we are mega happy with the first day. We hope to carry this momentum into tomorrow’s qualifying and to put the car on the first or second row of the grid.”
