Maximilian Götz returns at the Norisring. Götz starts for Haupt Racing Team in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. Team-mate is Romanian Petru Umbrarescu.
When the ADAC GT Masters returns to the Norisring after 15 years from 7th to 9th July, the starting grid will feature a certain Maximilian Götz. The 2012 ADAC GT Masters champion will make his first appearance of the season for Haupt Racing Team at the spectacular street circuit in Nuremberg. Götz shares the cockpit of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo with Romanian Petru Umbrarescu. TV partner Sport1 is broadcasting all the races, live and in full, on free-to-air TV.
Round two of this season’s ADAC GT Masters is a very special one for Götz. The race weekend at the 2.3-kilometre street circuit is a home event for the 37-year-old. And the man from Uffenheim enjoys a special association with the Norisring: it was on the streets of Nuremberg that he was crowned DTM champion with Haupt Racing Team in 2021. “It is great to be starting in the ADAC GT Masters again at such short notice. My schedule is actually really busy this year, but I could not miss the opportunity to race in the ADAC GT Masters. I obviously want to challenge for a spot on the podium, and to support the team with my experience. I hope I can put on a good show for the fans at my home race,” says the six-time race winner in the ADAC GT Masters. Götz also lines up at the events at the Sachsenring and the season finale at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg. To date, he has started 126 races in the ADAC’s iconic GT3 series.
“We are really delighted to have Maximilian back at HRT in the ADAC GT Masters. He is an absolute expert in this series and his presence is a great addition to the ADAC GT Masters. From a sporting perspective, we are hoping to continue to challenge for victories. We already finished on the podium in Hockenheim. At round two of the season in Hockenheim, the Mercedes-AMG team finished runner-up with regular driver Umbrarescu and Indian Arjun Maini.
