Haupt Racing Team is adding another Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo to its presence in the ADAC GT Masters. DTM driver Arjun Maini from India and Romanian Razvan Umbrarescu join the team’s line-up in the iconic GT3 series. The team from Drees, near the Nürburgring, had already announced its first two drivers: Estonian Ralf Aron and Switzerland’s Alain Valente. The opening round of this season’s ADAC GT Masters takes place this weekend as part of the “Festival of Dreams”.
“The new ADAC GT Masters season is finally upon us. We are very pleased to be able to run two Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. For our drivers, the ADAC GT Masters is a good opportunity to showcase their talent and develop in a professional environment. We also see potential synergies for our team in other series, such as the DTM. We are very motivated and want to achieve the best result possible in the ADAC GT Masters,” says Managing Director Ulrich Fritz.
Maini lines up in his second season in the DTM with Hubert Haupt’s team. Like his team-mate Umbrarescu, the 25-year-old is now set to make his ADAC GT Masters debut at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg. Umbrarescu has gained experience with the current GT3 model from Mercedes-AMG in the GT World Challenge Europe. “I am very excited about this season. I love challenges and this is indeed a new challenge. I am fortunate enough to be in the best team, and am grateful for that. In such a professional environment, I will be able to adapt quickly to the format of the championship,” says the 29-year-old, ahead of his debut this weekend.
