Schnitzelalm Racing joins the ADAC GT Masters at round three of the season at the Nürburgring. The team from Niederzissen is set to make its ADAC GT Masters debut at its home event from 14th to 16th July. Marcel Marchewicz (Schwetzingen) and Colin Caresani (NL) line up in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo as the series shares the bill with the ADAC Truck Grand Prix.
“The first two races of this season’s ADAC GT Masters at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg were great to watch and provided some thrilling racing. That motivated us as a team to race at the Nürburgring,” said Thomas Angerer, team principal at Schnitzelalm Racing. It is no coincidence that the team chose the iconic circuit in the Eifel Mountains for its first outing in the GT3 series: based just 30 kilometres away, the Mercedes outfit has a relatively short journey to make. “The Nürburgring is on our doorstep. We could not miss this event,” said Angerer. He has ambitious goals for the debut: “We are all very motivated and will try not to make life so easy for the others. As a small private team, we are particularly keen to sow the established AMG teams what we are capable of. The ADAC GT Masters is the ideal platform for us, as it offers young international drivers the opportunity to go up against established drivers.”
In Marchewicz, Schnitzelalm Racing is putting its faith in an experienced and familiar driver. The 27-year-old drove for the team in ADAC GT4 Germany in 2022. He knows his 19-year-old team-mate Caresani from joint outings on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The duo has shared a cockpit in the Nürburgring Endurance Series and the world famous 24-hour race in the Eifel. “Marcel is our regular driver in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. In Colin, we have a talented young driver in our ranks,” said Angerer.
Tickets for the ADAC Truck Grand Prix start at 25 Euro. Sport1 is broadcasting all the races live on free-to-air TV. The ADAC GT Masters will also be shown in a free livestream on the YouTube channel @adacmotorsports.
