The Joos Sportwagentechnik team is heading into the 2023 season of the ADAC GT Masters with an experienced Porsche driver and a talented young racer. While top Porsche driver Sven Müller has been an established part of the Porsche team for some years and has tasted plenty of success, young star Finn Gehrsitz is supported by the ADAC Stiftung Sport and has managed to lay down a few markers since making the step up from karting to motor racing. Together with the Joos Sportwagentechnik team, which claimed the runners-up spot last year, the duo has ambitious aims for the 2023 season.
After finishing second last year, the Joos Sportwagentechnik team will be competing in the 2023 ADAC GT Masters with a strong driving duo. Porsche GT works driver Sven Müller and emerging talent Finn Gehrsitz will be sharing driving duties at the wheel of the new Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Sven Müller has been part of the Porsche works squad since 2017. The 31-year-old has also been a core element of the ADAC GT Masters for some years, claiming two wins and reaching the podium on eight occasions. As well as racing in the ADAC GT Masters, the official Porsche driver has also made successful appearances in the 24h of Le Mans, the GT World Challenge and the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.
Finn Gehrsitz is one of the most talented young drivers in German motor racing. The 18-year-old has chalked up domestic and international victories in karting. At the age of 16, he switched to motor racing and has been competing successfully in GT racing and among the LMP3 racers. This season saw Finn Gehrsitz become a member of the national team, Motorsport Team Germany, and he enjoys the support of the ADAC Stiftung Sport.
Team principal Michael Joos: “Sven and Finn certainly provide us with a very powerful driving duo that will enable us to battle for wins. Sven has been an established name in this championship for some years and plenty has already been said about his qualities. I have known Finn for a long time and I have been watching his progress. I am sure that Sven will be the ideal partner for him as he continues to develop. I think it is very important to support young drivers and the ADAC GT Masters gives us the ideal platform to do so this year. I am very grateful to all our partners for their continued loyalty this season!”
Sven Müller, driver: “I am looking forward so much to this season. I am working with the Joos Sportwagentechnik team for the first time. It is a young group that has developed into one of the top teams over recent years. The new Porsche 911 GT3 R is a good car that should definitely allow us to be competitive. I also got on well with Finn from the word go, so I am confident that we have put together a good package and can go on the attack. Clearly, our aim is to win the championship!”
Finn Gehrsitz, driver: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to compete in the ADAC GT Masters with Joos Sportwagentechnik and Sven Müller! The combination of a top-class team, the experienced Porsche driver Sven Müller and the new Porsche 911 GT3 R convinces me that we are extremely well set up for the season.”
