Haupt Racing Team will again line up with two Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the 2024 ADAC GT Masters. The outfit from Drees won last year’s Team championship and is looking to back up its successful work with young drivers this season. Kwanda Mokoena (South Africa) and Finn Wiebelhaus (Obertshausen) will each be at the wheel of one of the two cars. Their team-mates will be announced at a later date. Together with the DTM, the ADAC GT Masters kicks off the new season at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 26th to 28th April. This will give the youngsters their first opportunity to show what they are capable of on a big stage.
Mokoena drove in the ADAC GT Masters last season, picking up a total of 30 points. He will now continue his career in the established GT3 championship and is particularly keen to develop personally. “I have felt right at home from the outset in this demanding series. I must now convert what I have learned into good results,” said the Haupt Racing Team driver.
Wiebelhaus comes from the French Formula 4 championship, in which he lined up for the ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team last year. He immediately finished in the points in his first season in single-seater racing. “Switching to GT racing is a fantastic opportunity for me to move a little closer to achieving my dream of a professional motorsport career. I will be driving the same car as in the DTM and am very proud to taking my first steps in GT3 racing with HRT,” said the 17-year-old German.
