Mike David Ortmann is a familiar face in the ADAC GT Masters, having previously started in the series with Audi and Lamborghini between 2017 and 2021. He has claimed the title in ADAC GT4 Germany for the past two years, and also won the Aston Martin Racing Driver Academy in 2023. “I have never felt as ready to make my comeback, and am very excited about the new challenge ahead,” says the 24-year-old. Together with Denis Bulatov, runner-up in last season’s ADAC GT4 Germany, the youngster will line up in the Silver Cup. The second car will feature a mix of experience and youth, with 29-year-old Chandler Hull partnering 19-year-old Nico Hantke. Hull has been a regular member of the team since 2021 and, following his title in the Asian Le Mans Series, made his first appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year. Hantke is set for his first season in a GT3 car, having previously gone in pursuit of points in ADAC GT4 Germany.

Jörg Breuer, Managing Director of Walkenhorst Motorsport is impressed by the ADAC’s concept: “We fully support the ADAC and their plans to position the ADAC GT Masters as a junior racing series, and the number of entries shows they are right.” Niclas Königbauer, also Managing Director at Walkenhorst Motorsport, is full of praise for the realignment: “After the transition year in 2023, the ADAC has made the right adjustments and made the ADAC GT Masters an extremely attractive series for talented youngsters in GT racing. We are very happy with our driver line-up. We have some of the best GT4 drivers of recent years in our team, as well as our long-term driver Chandler Hull. We know that it will not be easy, but the goal is clear: we want to be at the front of the field with both cars!”

The opening round of this season’s ADAC GT Masters shares the bill with the DTM at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 26th to 28th April.
