Europe´s motocross elite descend on Jauer : Max Nagl due to make comeback at Jauer

Preparations for the weekend of motocross action at Jauer (Saxony) continue apace. On the weekend of 14th/15th September, more than 250 riders from 17 different countries will be lining up at the starting gate in the three classes that constitute the ADAC MX Masters. One of the most prominent contestants is world solo and team champion Max Nagl (KMP Honda Racing Team) from Germany who is returning to the fray after a short illness. The MC Jauer e.V. club is well known as a venue for high-calibre motocross events, but this will actually be the first time in its 25-year history that it has staged the ADAC MX Masters. The Am Hahneberg track is located 50 kilometres north-east of Dresden in a rural location between Panschwitz-Kuckau and Elstra.

ADAC MX Masters

The class with the biggest and noisiest engines is the ADAC MX Masters itself - the entrants will be riding bikes ranging from 250cc to 450cc. The starting field will include European top riders and motocross professionals from the MX World Championship who aim to thrill the fans with a display of motorcycling excellence and gleaming machines. They will engage in close combat over race distances of 30 minutes plus two laps. Dennis Ullrich (GER / KTM Sarholz Racing Team) currently leads the championship on 199 points ahead of former world championship riders Sébastien Pourcel (FRA / KTM Sarholz Racing Team) on 186, Filip Neugebauer (CZE / Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) on 144 and Max Nagl on 138. High-voltage excitement is guaranteed, because both Ullrich and Pourcel are intent on taking a psychological advantage from this penultimate round of the 2013 campaign into the grand finale.

ADAC MX Youngster Cup

Also champing at the bit are the stars of tomorrow in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. Restricted to bikes in the 125cc to 250cc bracket, this represents the intermediate category. Entrants must be aged between 14 and 21 and must also have a commensurate level of dedication to advancing their career in the sport. Consequently, every position on the track is contested vigorously, often with breathtaking overtaking manoeuvres. As with the ADAC MX Masters class, the qualifying heats for the Youngster Cup are held on Saturday, and only the top 40 riders from all over Europe will make it through to the races on Sunday - by no means an easy feat in a strong field of 90 plus. Boris Maillard (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) tops the championship table on 187 points ahead of Lars Reuther (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) on 175 and Dominique Thury (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) on 167. Reuther will be hoping to reclaim the number one spot after coming away from Gaildorf empty-handed.

ADAC MX Junior Cup

The 2013 ADAC MX Junior Cup is for riders born in the years 1998 to 2003, and the maximum engine size is 85cc. Many of

the best-known names in the sport have risen to prominence via the ADAC MX Junior Cup. More than 70 of the most promising juniors from all over Europe will be battling it out on Saturday for the privilege of competing in front of Sunday´s even larger crowd and scoring valuable championship points, but only 40 will qualify. Going into the weekend, Glen Meier (Kosak Racing Team, KTM) from Denmark leads the standings on 166 points ahead of Jakub Teresak (CZE / Mefo Sport Racing Team) on 153 and Kim Savaste (FIN / KTM Motorsport Finland) on 131.

Programme for the weekend

In addition to the practice runs and qualifying heats on Saturday, there is a ‘Last Chance Race´ which - as the name suggests - permits riders to qualify for the main field after all. On Sunday, it is crucial not only to notch up one decent moto but to be consistently good over two. The club have also organised an attractive programme for fans between races. In the events area, there will be stalls selling refreshments and motocross-related items for spectators of all ages. Children who have been bitten by the racing bug can get a taste for the sport on the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki quad track. The little ones can let off steam here with appropriate safety precautions and under expert supervision, all free of charge. Or if they are happy just to jump up and down, they can have fun on the ADAC bouncy castle, which is also included in the entry price. On Saturday evening in the marquee, there will be a live concert performed by rock band Klartext followed by a fireworks display. A weekend ticket costs 20 euros for adults; children under six get in free.
