Fantastic programme for motocross fans at Reutling: Success in qualification for French rider Pourcel at Reutlingen

French rider Sébastien Pourcel (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) set the fastest lap in rainy conditions on a muddy track, which entitled him to choose the best starting place on Sunday. "On the track, I felt really good," said the 28-year-old. "I'm fit, I've prepared well and I want to win here." Second fastest on the historic circuit in Baden-Württemberg was Czech rider Filip Neugebauer (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) ahead of Tim Gajser (Marchetti Racing) from Slovenia. World championship contender Max Nagl (KMP Honda Racing) did not have the best of sessions, going into Sunday's race from fourth place. "I had problems with the track, and in the end I had to abandon my flying lap because of slow bikes ahead," said the 25-year-old from Weilheim. "Nevertheless, I'm still hopeful of winning on Sunday."

In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Dutch rider Micha Boy de Waal laid down the front marker in qualifying. The 17-year-old KTM rider pushed the French duo of Sullivan Jaulin and Boris Maillard (both Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf) down to grid positions two and three. "These are my ideal weather conditions," said de Waal. "I just love being out on track when it's as wet as this. My target for Sunday is of course a podium." The best of the German contingent was Lars Reuther (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) from Pleidelsheim - just 60 kilometres from the venue - who qualified in fifth place.

The start of the race will be decisive in the battle for points and overall victory at Reutlingen. "I'll be looking for a position on the right-hand side when I get behind the starting gate," says Jaulin, revealing his strategy for coming out Turn 1 in the lead. "I'll watch the start of the ADAC MX Youngster Cup and then decide which position to start from," said ADAC MX Masters pole-sitter Pourcel. "The weather will strongly influence the racing line here."

Hosting the competition are 1. RMC (1. Rad- und Motorsportclub Reutlingen e.V.) who have entered six of their own riders. In the ADAC MX Masters class, Johannes Rehfuss, Kai Haase, Kevin Vogelwaid and Patrick Hofer were hoping to make best use of their home advantage. Haase on P11 in the Last Chance race kept alive his hopes of being called up as a reserve contestant for the main event. Lucas Schelling and Tim Ebinger entered for the ADAC MX Youngster Cup but did not manage to qualify for the main field.

Now into its ninth season, the ADAC MX Masters is a family-friendly event. Admission on Sunday costs 15 euros, with no charge for children under twelve years of age when accompanied by an adult. Included in the price of admission is the use of the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki Quad track and the ADAC bouncy castle for kids, admission to the fan zone with motocross merchandise stalls, and an autograph signing session with top riders Max Nagl, Filip Neugebauer, Marcus Schiffer and Dennis Ullrich on Sunday at 12.15pm. Reutlingen will also be staging a freestyle show and demo rides performed by the RMC juniors.
