ADAC MX Masters·27.8.2013

Gaildorf hosts third-to-last fixture of the season: Tradition-steeped track at Gaildorf preparing for ADAC MX Masters

The sixth of the eight rounds in the 2013 ADAC MX Masters season takes place on the weekend of Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September at the historic 'Auf der Wacht' motocross racetrack in Gaildorf (Baden-Württemberg). The organisers are expecting around 250 entrants from approximately 20 different countries. German rider Dennis Ullrich (KTM Sarholz Racing Team), who currently leads the championship, is up against some strong international competition. In the ADAC MX Masters class, he will be challenged by the French duo of Sébastien Pourcel (also of KTM Sarholz Racing Team), who is just 16 points adrift of Ullrich in the standings, and Grégory Aranda (Sturm Racing Team). Two more riders who can be relied on to qualify for front positions at the gate are Filip Neugebauer (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) from the Czech Republic and Tim Gajser (Macchetti Racing) from Slovenia. Meanwhile, KMP Honda Racing have booked European Supercross champion Cedric Soubeyras (FRA) as a guest entrant for the weekend.

In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Lars Reuther (KTM Sarholz Racing) is currently setting the benchmark. The 20-year-old lives only 52 kilometres away from Gaildorf in the small town of Pleidelsheim, and on the basis of his track record so far this season, he is considered a hot prospect for victory on the 1,700-metre circuit. Reuther leads the overall standings on 175 points, followed by Boris Maillard (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) on 140. Belgian rider Brent van Doninck (KTM Scott Racing) is equal on points but is placed third due to inferior race results.

The ADAC MX Junior Cup is essentially a school for budding young talent - entrants must be aged ten to 15 years. This class is currently led by Glen Meier (Kosak Racing Team) from Denmark on 119 points, followed by Jakub Teresak (Mefo Sport Racing Team) from the Czech Republic on 111 points and Finnish youngster Kim Savaste (KTM Motorsport Finland) on 93. They are all capable of claiming the winner's trophy on Sunday, but the strong Spanish rider Jorge Prado (KTM Factory Red Bull) will also fancy his chances.

As in previous seasons, MSC Gaildorf will be laying on a colourful supporting programme. In addition to top-class motocross action, spectators can also enjoy entertainment in the marquee. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, there will be live music performed by Südtiroler Spitzbuam and by cover bands Revolution and Highlights. During the day, visitors can also watch Matthias Dolderer's Red Bull Air Race Show and take a stroll through the fan zone with its stalls specialising in motocross items and with the ADAC Motorbootcup display stand featuring an actual speedboat. The top riders will be there at 12.15pm on Sunday for an autograph signing session. Admission on Saturday is six euros and on Sunday 18 euros. For younger fans, there is the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki quad track and the ADAC bouncy castle. (Admission for children under 16 years of age is free when accompanied by an adult.)

The ADAC MX Masters is supported by Red Bull, Suzuki, ADAC Young Generation, Motul, Kinetixx, GoldenTyre (exclusively supplied by MotorradreifenDirekt.de), Zurich Versicherungen und Racing Policy, KTM, Honda, Goldfren, Kawasaki, Ortema, Magura, Opel Germany, Wiseco, Össur Deutschland, Leatt Brace, the off-road magazine Motocross Enduro, MotoX, Motorrad, Cross Magazin and Mefo (supplying Ariete, Acerbis, Mefo Mousse and Kite products) as well as Saxess (brand name of Behr Industry Motorcycle Components GmbH).
