ADAC MX Masters·20.9.2013

Interview with GOLDfren's Stanislav Spacek : Passion for motocross

Why is GOLDfren so important for motocross?

As far as I know, there are not many manufacturers who specialise in brake products for motocross or off-road use. We produce 98 percent of our components ourselves from our production programme and have replacement spare parts and tuning components for every type of motorcycle. Consequently, we are an important partner for many customers in this area.

Why should motocross riders opt for you and your company?

We have a solution for every problem; we treat customers - motocross riders in this instance - very well, just like royalty. In general, we know exactly where problems with brakes can arise, and so, are able to respond immediately and help riders and dealers very quickly, for sure.

Why have you decided to support the ADAC MX Masters?

My heart beats for Germany and I have a passion for motocross. I think that this combination has led me to sponsor the ADAC MX Masters with GOLDfren. I also think that it is the best European racing series. In my early twenties, I myself participated as a rider in the German Championship. The people were always very helpful, which made a big impression on me. Through GOLDfren, I can now show my appreciation and that gives me a good feeling.

What connections do you have with motocross?

I fled to Germany from the then communist Czechoslovakia because of motocross. I grew up here with motocross, so to speak. I achieved sixth place in the German Championship and finished among the Top Ten in the World Championship several times. I was finally crowned Spanish Champion towards the end of my career. The best thing from my perspective, though, was that I could accompany and support the best rider as far as I'm concerned, my son Michael, in his sporting endeavours.

To what extent does your motorcycle experience help you in your job?

Without my knowledge of motocross, I would not be in a position to manufacture a product or be able to find technical solutions and am very glad to have this knowledge. Motocross as a sport requires quite a lot of an individual. You have to look after your motorcycle, make sure you have the correct protective gear and finally clean and adjust everything. It is hard work, and you realise at the end of the day exactly how tough it has been. That's why I take my hat off to everyone active in this sport.

What is the biggest challenge in motocross as you see it?

I think many people do not appreciate just how involved motocross is. A lot of training and deep pockets are required to deal with a very complicated device that needs constant maintenance. The ever more difficult motocross tracks are also a challenge. Unfortunately, the media still fails to present the sport in a realistic light, but I hope that is set to change soon due to rising attendances and the success of individual riders.

What do you find fascinating about motocross?

I can no longer speak in terms of fascination after the loss of my son, but I really value motocross and all those who work hard in this sport. And so, it is important for me to do my bit and be actively involved through GOLDfren and support people as they go about their work each day, producing such fantastic results.
