The riders competing in the ADAC MX Masters at Tensfeld in Schleswig-Holstein had to contend with temperatures of over 30 degrees on Saturday. In the main ADAC MX Masters classification, Marc de Reuver, the sand specialist from Amstelveen (Netherlands) who rides for BT Motorsports, mastered the conditions best to claim the pick of the places at the start gate for Sunday. "It´s great to be the fastest," said de Reuver after qualifying in P1, "but I´m a bit disappointed that Max Nagl won´t be in the starting line-up. I wish him a speedy recovery." World Championship rider Nagl (KMP Honda Racing Team) has had to miss out on the Tensfeld race weekend for health reasons. In second place behind de Reuver is Frenchman Sébastien Pourcel (KTM Sarholz Racing Team). Third fastest on Saturday was Pourcel´s team-mate Dennis Ullrich from Rammingen in Baden-Württemberg.
ADAC MX Youngster Cup
In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Dutch rider Luca Nijenhuis (Gebben Racing) set the pace in qualifying. His lap time of 1:57.883 minutes was yet further evidence that the Tensfeld circuit favours the sand specialists. "In Holland we are used to sandy tracks," explains Nijenhuis. "This has certainly made itself noticeable here. In the race on Sunday, I want to be finishing right at the front of course." Starting from second place will be French youngster Boris Maillard (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil), with Belgian rider Brent van Doninck (KTM Scott Racing) in third.
ADAC MX Junior Cup
Danish rider Glen Meier (Kosak Racing Team) has been pleased with his results so far this season in the ADAC MX Junior Cup. The 14-year-old is flourishing in the classification for riders aged between ten and fifteen: "Last year, I only felt really comfortable on sand, but now I also like the harder surfaces. Obviously, I´m happy about securing first place in qualifying, but for my taste, the weather is a bit too warm; I´m more accustomed to overcast conditions." Dutch junior Nick Horsten (Aerts Racing) starts from second tomorrow. In third place is Finnish rider Kim Savaste (KTM Motorsport Finland) who currently leads the ADAC MX Junior Cup standings on 73 points.
Programme of events
The family-friendly ticket prices (adults €12, youngsters €5 and free admission for children aged up to nine years) make a visit to the Tensfeld event excellent value for a day out. On Sunday, spectators will not only get to see six motocross races in three classes but also be entertained by the well-known freestyle crew UPFORCE in a show sponsored by MotoX Magazin. Also included in the ticket price is the use of the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki Quad track and the ADAC bouncy castle, admission to the fan zone with various stalls dedicated to the sport of motocross and an autograph-signing session with the top riders on Sunday at 12.15pm.
