The fourth of eight fixtures in the ADAC MX Masters was held on the extremely sandy Tensfeld track in Schleswig-Holstein and saw Heidecke acclaimed winner on the day. As 7,200 spectators during the course of the weekend watched on, the 23-year-old showed consistent form, beating strong challengers. "What an amazing victory. The heat took its toll on us all, for sure! I had six showers and drank gallons of water," said Heidecke.
After the results from both Sunday's race had been totted up, Kevin Wouts (Belgium/Kawasaki Monster Energy Elf Team Pfeil) and Filip Bengtsson (Sweden/JE68.se/KTM Scandinavia) were also adjudged top of their class behind Heidecke in the ADAC MX Masters. They won through against tough opposition in temperatures nudging 32 degrees in the shade. Former world championship rider Marc de Reuver's performance (BT Motorsports) was impressive with a win the first race. However, the 30-year-old was forced to retire after a fall in the second round. Max Nagl (KMP Honda Racing Team) was unable to join the Tensfeld line-up due to illness but still leads in the overall standings on 138 points from Dennis Ullrich (Germany/KTM Sarholz Racing Team, 133 points) and Sébastien Pourcel (France/KTM Sarholz Racing Team, 108 points). A total of 190 riders from 19 countries contested the three classes: ADAC MX Masters, ADAC MX Youngster Cup and ADAC MX Junior Cup.
ADAC MX Youngster Cup
Close overtaking manoeuvres and constant changes in position resulted in very exciting racing in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. At the end of the day, Frenchman Boris Maillard (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) placed ahead of Jorge Zaragoza (Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) from Spain and Peter Irt (Vamo Racing) from Slovenia. "Things went well for me, and I must have drunk at least five litres of water, which helped me stay focused," said Maillard summing up the secret of his success. German Lars Reuther (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) continues to hold top position in the standings on 153 points, followed by Belgian Brent van Doninck (KTM Scott Racing, 120 points) and Dominique Thury (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil), who are in second and third position respectively.
ADAC MX Junior Cup
Danish rider Glen Meier (Kosak Racing Team) dominated the ADAC MX Junior Cup in Tensfeld, winning Sunday's first race for riders aged ten to 15 by 30 seconds . He again took the chequered flag in first place in the second round, putting Meier in the lead in the daily classification ahead of Jakub Teresak (Czech Republic/Mefo Sport Racing Team) and Jago Geerts (Belgium/Stabilo Pro Grip MX Team). "It's going incredibly well. I now aim to win the entire series," said Meier. As a result of achieving victory on the day, the 14-year-old edged into top position in the overall standings. Now on 119 points, he leads from Teresak (111) and Kim Savaste (Finland/KTM Motorsport Finland, 93).
The next ADAC MX Masters race weekend will take place from 10th to 11th August in Ried, Austria. In addition to the regular categories of ADAC MX Masters ADAC MX Youngster Cup, there will also be an MX race for female riders (details: mx.hsv-ried.at).
