ADAC MX Masters race venues for 2015 revealed: MSC Drabenderhöhe-Bielstein to debut as host

Two weeks ahead of the grand finale to this year´s ADAC MX Masters campaign, the itinerary for next year has been published. The 2015 season of Europe´s most popular motocross series will once again be spread over eight race weekends. Bielsteiner Waldkurs, 45 kilometres east of Cologne (North Rhine-Westphalia), is to host the ADAC MX Masters for the very first time, with MSC Drabenderhöhe-Bielstein e.V. making its debut as an ADAC MX Masters race organiser. The club with its long tradition in the sport will be sparing no expense in converting the Bielsteiner Waldkurs circuit into an ‘old school track´ with modern MX features. The committee are confident of creating the conditions to attract high-calibre riders from all over the world. To date, 26 world championship races have been contested there.

The ADAC MX Masters will be descending on Baden-Württemberg three times next year. For the past ten seasons, the 1,755-metre Aichwald and 1,845-metre Holzgerlingen circuits with their typical meadow soil characteristics have been regular fixtures on the calendar. In addition, Europe´s most popular motocross series will be contested on the 1,700-metre hard-packed surface at Gaildorf. MSC Gaildorf e.V. won the title of ‘Organiser of the Year´ in the past two seasons (2012 and 2013). In 2012, an army of volunteers succeeded in preparing the Auf der Wacht track for the Sunday races after a deluge on Saturday. In the previous year at Gaildorf, motocross super talent Ken Roczen clinched his first MX2 world championship at the age of just 17 years.

The ADAC MX Masters calendar also includes a challenging deep sand track in the shape of Tensfeld (Schleswig-Holstein). The series made its first visit there in 2005 and, with the sole exception of 2008, the 1,850-metre sandy track has been a permanent fixture on the itinerary ever since.

The 1,650-metre sand circuit at Fürstlich Drehna (Saxony) will also be rolling out the red carpet for Europe´s most popular motocross series. It has traditionally hosted the curtain-raiser to each new ADAC MX Masters campaign, but whether ‘Rund um den Mühlberg´ (All Around the Mühlberg) once again has the honour of receiving the MX crème de la crème before anyone else remains up in the air until the calendar has been finalised. Another club in Saxony, MC Jauer e.V. near Dresden, also made its debut as an ADAC MX Masters race organiser in 2014. The 1,700-metre MC Jauer track with its compacted surface and its myriad tables is extremely popular with fans who like to see their heroes flying through the air.

The series will once again be venturing beyond the borders of Germany. The clay track belonging to HSV Ried and located between Linz and Salzburg is 1,900 meters in length, making it the longest on the ADAC MX Masters itinerary. It is also considered to be one of the most attractive natural circuits in Austria and to pose a particular challenge for contestants on account of the long, downhill straight immediately after the start.

The finalised version of the ADAC MX Masters calendar, including dates of course, will be published by the ADAC in late autumn.
